A total of 111 S-38's built, most "A" & "B" models. Only 10 "C" models built, had 420 hp P&W Wasp engines, cruised at 110 mph, a range of 600 miles and cost $50k. Caption on bottom states: Sikorsky S-38 In May 1928 production started on this commercially successful amphibian capable of carrying two crew, plus eight passengers. S-38's logged over 25 million miles, pioneering executive travel and establishing many of the first air mail and passenger air routes.
