Great article on the four engine flying boat, called the Mother Goose when flying for Catalina Air Lines (cover) in Avalon. Tells the history from the beginning in 1939 as a Navy Patrol Bomber prototype XPBS-1 to this commercial version VS-44A (originally called the Excambian), through WWII to 1973, with many wonderful b&w pictures. She now sits in the New England Air Museum. Published March 1973
